initial creation of a defaults bookmarks.html file. This includes :
BeZilla Browser--> -BeZilla Blog -Report an Issue -View Known Issues Software for Haiku--> -OSDrawer.net -HaikuWare -Zeta-Games -BeBits
I haven't tested applying these changes to the build system. So for now, the bookmarks.html file needs to be copied into BeZillaBrowser?/defaults/profiles before a distribution archive is created.
Eventually, I would like to set http://www.haiku-os.org/community as the initial start page.
As a side note, there are a few issues I want to hammer out before rolling out a new archive.

also, "Report an Issue" directs to ports.haiku-files.org, i couldn't link directly to /newticket, as the user needs to be logged in.
"View Known Issues" is a custom query for component: www-client/mozilla-firefox

- Resolution set to fixed
- Status changed from new to closed
Default bookmarks now include :
BeZilla Browser--> -BeZilla Blog -Report an Issue -View Known Issues Haiku Bookmarks--> -Nightly Builds -Optional Packages -Bug Tracker Software for Haiku--> -OSDrawer.net -HaikuWare -Zeta-Games -BeBits -Haiku Website
note: Haiku Website is a top-level link.
It is not my intent for the default bookmarks to include every possible Haiku-related website. But rather a bare minimum amount of links to jump start new users.
closing ticket.

Similar discussion came up when talking about adding links in the Haiku User Guide - problem is, maintaining those links, updating them to be relevant, etc. is impractical.
It would be better to point the user to a page containing all the relevant links they might be interested in, and they can add bookmarks accordingly.
I would recommend a bookmark to http://www.haiku-os.org and perhaps http://www.haiku-os.org/community/ where all further links could be maintained.
