Of course, it will still be necessary to announce a new RFC on the
mailing list.

Good thought. However that would limit the comments to the tickets to
those with accounts, which in theory I see as a disadvantage. In
practice, the comments have come from the 'core' members.

What would be really cool to have though would be a link from the SVN
browser to the appropriate PortLog page. Can that be done in Trac? If some Python code could be inserted there, the URL could be parsed and rewritten to a link.
