Download the both the dumb-0.9.3-autotools.tar.gz and dumb-0.9.3.tar.gz
Unzip both zip files into dumb-0.9.3, then copy in haiku config.guess/.sub files
run
 * libtoolize --force --copy
 * aclocal
 * automake --add-missing
 * autoconf
 * ./configure --prefix=/boot/common
 * make
 * make install
no patching needed, can use allegro if installed though.
