It compiled, linked, running, but crashing very frequently and won't play anything (or only one frame), this might be an kernel signal management bug.

Removed extra ffmpeg entries from media-libs, they should be in media-video. Moved vlc patch to patches folder.

Updated patch for vlc-0.8.6i on Haiku, this one gets a bit further, but still not linking, this time with functions in threads.c not commented out.
